Filtering in EIGRP with hop count

EIGRP can filter on hop count.

R4 is receiving the following routes

R4(config-fr-dlci)#do sh ip ro ei
1.0.0.0/8 is variably subnetted, 2 subnets, 2 masks
D       1.0.0.0/22 [90/2713600] via 10.1.14.1, 00:16:15, Virtual-Access2
D       1.0.2.0/24 [90/2713600] via 10.1.14.1, 00:15:17, Virtual-Access2
D    2.0.0.0/8 [90/2969600] via 10.1.14.1, 00:00:06, Virtual-Access2
10.0.0.0/8 is variably subnetted, 3 subnets, 2 masks
D 10.1.1.0/24 [90/2841600] via 10.1.14.1, 00:00:11, Virtual-Access2

R4(config-fr-dlci)#do sh ip ro 2.0.0.0
Routing entry for 2.0.0.0/8
Known via "eigrp 100", distance 90, metric 2969600, type internal
Redistributing via eigrp 100
Last update from 10.1.14.1 on Virtual-Access2, 00:00:16 ago
Routing Descriptor Blocks:
* 10.1.14.1, from 10.1.14.1, 00:00:16 ago, via Virtual-Access2
Route metric is 2969600, traffic share count is 1
Total delay is 106000 microseconds, minimum bandwidth is 10000 Kbit
Reliability 255/255, minimum MTU 1500 bytes
Loading 1/255, Hops 2

The route coming from R2 is 2 hops away and we want to filter route and any other routes with a hop count equal to or greater than.

To configure

R4(config-fr-dlci)#router ei 100

R4(config-router)#metric maximum-hops 1

and now the route is filtered.

R4(config-router)#do sh ip ro ei
1.0.0.0/8 is variably subnetted, 2 subnets, 2 masks
D       1.0.0.0/22 [90/2713600] via 10.1.14.1, 00:00:13, Virtual-Access2
D       1.0.2.0/24 [90/2713600] via 10.1.14.1, 00:00:13, Virtual-Access2
10.0.0.0/8 is variably subnetted, 3 subnets, 2 masks
D 10.1.1.0/24 [90/2841600] via 10.1.14.1, 00:00:13, Virtual-Access2
